So you’ve handed over a deposit check and given us the green light. Now what?

Design and planning

The design and modeling process is usually part of your quote. A member of our team will create your project in a 3D modeling program, and we will send images to you for approval. Now is the time to make little tweaks and make sure the design is right. In some larger projects, it may make sense to collect a design retainer so we can spend the time bringing your idea to life while we settle on the total project cost as we go. This is also the stage where we must determine our installation plan for projects that may include equipment or heavy lifting. Good plans are essential to good execution.

Material Order and shop drawings

After finishing a design, blueprints will be made if needed and a total material list will be collected so we can make our order. Having blueprints gives our team the common language needed to describe the work at hand and how it will be done. Drawing up plans is one of the best ways to leak test an idea and ensure we have all our ducks in a row.

Fabrication

Once we have the material in hand we can move quickly. You’ll receive weekly updates from our in queue newsletter. This newsletter provides shop updates, photos, and videos of everything our team is staying busy with. We know it can be hard to wait and that you’re excited to see the work complete. We are too! All good things take time, so this newsletter will keep you informed about our progress. As work passes through hands during different stages of the build, it’s important that everyone has the information they need to properly carry out their responsibilities. A boat works best when we all row in the same direction. This is where our design and preplanning begin to pay off most.

Finish Work

Depending on your project this could mean some different things. The most common finish we apply is powder coating. When our fabrication stage is complete, we send out the steel to get a durable finish that will protect your investment for years to come. During this stage, we coordinate an installation date with you and round up any final supplies we need to complete the project.

Installation

After we’ve arranged a good day for you, and everything else is finished up, our team will arrive and get your project installed for you. We ask that you’re home so you are able to look it over before we pack up and leave. You can help us make sure the finishing touches suit your taste. When everything is up to your standards we will collect the remainder of the payment, talk you through our warranty, send you a receipt, wave goodbye to your pets, and be on our way.
